The Guest of Honor - Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India – Mr Amitabh Verma, IAS, gave a wonderful insight on the boundless opportunities the Inland Waterways have in store to for us to take advantage for cutting costs in cargo transportation through the inland waterways, as well as the obstacles and hurdles India needs to overcome to be at par with countries like Germany. There was also a discussion on the future growth of the Indian Shipping Industry.

 

Capt. Sowresh Gon - Darya Shipmanagement, panelist for the Technical Session - put forth his views on the deployment of technology in the maritime sector with focus on Shipmanagement Services. Technology has helped us to overcome human errors and improve a vessel's efficiency.
